What is VerityBot?

VerityBot is a robust, software solution intended for users who want to make informed security decisions. Using digital sensor data from Verkada -- a premier physical security platform, our application provides detailed, analytical insights into your Verkada system. It is portable, reliable, data-driven, and allows users to feel confident in making important security decisions.

Docker

Docker functions as our Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) Container. It transforms our raw data from verkada into Bulk NDJSON format and loads it into ElasticSearch.

Elastic Stack

Our ElasticSearch container indexes the Bulk NDJSON data sent from our ETL using each event’s “event_id” as the unique id and sorting by timestamp.

About the Team

We are all University of Louisville Computer Science majors with varying backgrounds that allowed us to leverage our unique perspectives into a well-rounded project.

Jalen Hatcher

Jalen is a Computer Science major (BACS) with a minor in Mathematics and Pan-African Studies. He is currently working at GE Appliances, a Haier Company as an Embedded Software Engineer.

Jacob Lanter

Jacob is a Computer Science major (BACS) on the AI track, with a focus on data systems and machine learning. He is a nontraditional student with prior experience in the military and healthcare IT.

Tyler Sexton

Tyler is a Computer Science major (BACS) with an interest in music and game design.

Julian Valleroy

Julian is a Computer Science major (BACS) with a minor in Film Studies and Production. He is currently working at CMTA, a Legence Company, as a Technology Design Engineer.
